Under the guidance and support of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Ali Al-Akeeli, the Continuing Education Center at Al-Turath University organized an extensive workshop on Thursday, 27 November 2025. The session was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Haider Abdulameer,who presented a detailed explanation of managing the university’s email system through Google Workspace not Gmail, with emphasis on the administrative, technical, and organizational aspects essential for effective academic communication.
The workshop provided a structured overview of the university’s Google Workspace environment, clarified the operational differences between institutional accounts and personal Google accounts, and highlighted the importance of relying on university email for official correspondence, academic collaboration, research-related communication, and interaction with international journals. The presenter outlined the platform’s capabilities in file management, shared drives, scheduling, and workflow organization within academic settings.
A dedicated segment addressed cybersecurity, focusing on data protection practices, recognizing and avoiding suspicious links, selecting strong login credentials, and identifying common digital threats targeting email and cloud services. Practical methods for minimizing these risks within the university’s digital environment were also presented.
The workshop saw the participation of faculty members from various departments at Al-Turath Universityfeaturing discussions and practical demonstrations that enhanced participants’ digital proficiency and strengthened their ability to use the university’s Google Workspace system effectively in both academic and administrative tasks.
