Student Support Grants

The Financial Support Center Al-Turath University was established in 2017 to assist low-income students and university employees who need financial assistance or support, the center also actively supports other community activities, the center offers several programs in various fields based on a plan submitted by the College Council to support students facing financial difficulties that may prevent them from enrolling at the university or completing their studies.

Free Admission Program

Free Admission Program

This program is designed to provide financial and academic support to students experiencing financial difficulties that prevent them from being part of the Al-Turath University community, the program includes a one-year tuition waiver, as well as academic guidance and support 170 students were admitted to the program in 2020, 320 in 2021, 240 in 2022 and 270 in 2023 and 94% of students included in the program successfully completed their studies, exceeding the college's planned 90%.

All applicants' names are confidential and will not be publicly disclosed to protect their privacy, the university has established a committee of three professors to interview and review applicants, applications are open from June 12 to November 12, students can request an application from their department chair, who must first approve the application.

Partially Supported Admission Program

Partially Supported Admission Program

This program was created to assist students who cannot afford to pay the full tuition fees by covering 50% of the tuition fees. Students will have the option to divide the remaining fees into several installments or even defer them to the following year. The number of students covered by this program in 2020 was 203, in 2021 215, in 2022 230, and in 2023 243.

Applicants' names are confidential and will not be publicly disclosed to protect their privacy. The university has established a committee of three professors to interview and review applicants. Applications are open from June 12 to November 12. Students can request an application form from their department chair's office, who must first approve the application.

Victims of Terrorism Program

Victims of Terrorism Program

Al-Turath University offers a 50% discount on tuition fees to students whose parents were victims of terrorist acts in Iraq. Students must provide legal evidence supported by an official government agency. In 2020, 200 students were covered through this program, 230 in 2021, 212 in 2022, and 165 in 2023.

Student Allowance Program

As part of Al-Turath University's community services, this program was launched to provide financial support to low-income University of Al-Turath students and students in the surrounding communities. The program provides grants (interest-free loans), monthly stipends, legal services, free access to university facilities, and vouchers for purchasing books from the Al-Turath University Bookstore. 60% of grant recipients will be low-income students from the local community. The program targets students with below-average family incomes to help them complete their degrees toward graduation. The program benefited 31 students in 2020, 50 in 2021, 65 in 2022, 103 in 2023, and 96 in 2024.

Because Altuath University believes in gender equality, the University of Toronto's Board of Trustees has decided to allocate 50% of scholarship recipients to female students. This is one step in the University of Altuath's plan to promote diversity across campus, thereby spreading the spirit of love and peace. This program fully covers 200 meals for the duration of their studies with in one year for low-income women who wish to join the university community toward graduation. The university launched this program to strengthen the women's community at the university. This program is not limited to Iraqi students only.

Students can request an application form from the Registrar's Office, which must first approve the application.
