Driven by the vision of Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Ali Al-Ogaili for a university whose relation with students extends beyond curriculum and degree attainment, an Al-Turath University delegation headed by Mr. Ali Al-Ogaili and accompanied by Prof. Dr. Omar Saad, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Jalil, and Assistant Prof. Dr. Mowaffaq Sajit visited Aston University in the United Kingdom for academic discussions designed around a model of cooperation broader than conventional agreements, with talks addressing pathways that connect educational and research outcomes with industry and the labor market as well as opportunities for postgraduate students to pursue Ph.D. study at Aston University with financial support from Al-Turath University.
The University and its British counterpart also explored opportunities for Al-Turath students to complete part of their studies in the United Kingdom within disciplines responsive to Iraqi labor market needs, while discussions extended to the possibility of establishing an Aston University branch in Iraq under joint management and forming an academic and research alliance capable of engaging major oil and industrial companies operating in the country, placing education, research, application, and the economy within a connected institutional framework.
Al-Turath concluded the visit with a tour of Aston University's academic facilities and educational environment, allowing the delegation to examine directly the institutional setting in which teaching, research, and industry engagement interact, adding a new dimension to the University's international trajectory in which experience is examined before it is transferred and partnerships are built around substance before outcomes are announced, strengthening Al-Turath's presence across international knowledge networks while giving its external engagement cumulative academic value.
