Considering the directives of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Turath University, Mr. Ali Al-Ogaili, and within the framework of the policy of academic and institutional openness, Al-Turath University participated in a distinguished event in the first central festival for sustainable development, which was launched in Baghdad under the slogan (Baghdad First), the event was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi and attended by a number of academic and PM figures.
This distinguished participation was directly coordinated by the President of Al-Turath University, Asst Prof. Dr. Omar Saad who emphasized the importance of expanding strategic partnerships between higher education institutions and vital sectors during his attendance, as well as highlighting the university's commitment to support sustainable development goals, particularly in the fields of innovation, renewable energy, and environmental technology.
The university's pavilion at the festival witnessed a notable presence from its colleges, which showcased a range of initiatives and projects that enhance environmental awareness and adopt sustainable solutions consistent with national and international visions aimed at achieving balanced development.
This participation reflects Al-Turath University's commitment to affirm its pioneering role in building a sustainable knowledge society and strengthening its presence as an active institution shaping the green transformation within the education sector and across Iraqi society.
