Al-Turath University continued its distinguished international presence by participating in the international development course for directors and departments of student activities, which was held in the Russian capital, Moscow, jointly organized by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and RUDN University, from July 26 to August 2, 2025, with the participation of 45 representatives from 38 Iraqi public and private universities.
This event was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, and under the direct supervision of the Head of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority, Professor Dr. Salah Al-Fatlawi, within the framework of the Ministry's directives towards developing the capabilities of university staff and enhancing student activities, in line with a modern vision inspired by advanced global experiences.
Al-Turath University was represented in this course by the Director of the Student Activities Department, Professor Zain Al-Abidin Hassan Al-Imara, who participated in a series of theoretical and practical lectures, discussion sessions, and team-building workshops, in addition to field visits to Russian sports facilities, which aimed to transfer expertise and exchange experiences in the field of modern sports management.
The opening of the course witnessed the presence of governmental and parliamentary figures from both countries, as well as broad participation from a number of Olympic athletes and directors of sports and media institutions, which added a high international dimension to the program's activities.
Al-Turath University received official recognition at the conclusion of the program from the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Russia and from the Dean of the Faculty of Management at RUDN University, where it was awarded certificates of participation and higher diplomas in Sports Management in appreciation of its active role and continuous commitment to developing student activities.
This participation embodies Al-Turath University's commitment to international openness and its dedication to its presence within the developmental paths adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education, ensuring a stimulating and integrated university environment that keeps pace with the latest developments in academic and student work at both local and international levels.
