Under the vision led by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Turath University, Mr. Ali Al-Ogaili, the University achieved a new international academic milestone by securing a Jean Monnet grant under the European Union's Erasmus+ Programme, marking a significant step toward deeper engagement with European and international academic programs.
Al-Turath University reviewed that the Jean Monnet grant holds particular significance within Erasmus+ as an academic framework that supports teaching, research, and scholarly dialogue on European Union-related subjects while fostering interaction among academia, society, and policymakers and expanding opportunities for international knowledge exchange and institutional cooperation.
The University highlighted that this achievement provides Al-Turath University with new opportunities to strengthen its academic and research capacities, expand its connections with international knowledge networks, and create broader opportunities for faculty members, researchers, and students to engage with diverse academic experiences and practices, contributing to the continuous development of the University's educational and research environment.
Al-Turath University demonstrated that the achievement also reflects the University's approach to integrating an international dimension into its academic structure through the advancement of education and scientific research, institutional capacity building, and broader academic partnerships and cooperation, strengthening its presence within the international higher education landscape and expanding opportunities for its academic and scientific outputs.
The University continued by saying that engagement with Jean Monnet Actions can also support curriculum and academic activity development, international cooperation, and opportunities for emerging researchers, providing an academic platform upon which the University can expand institutional knowledge and expertise while strengthening the relationship among education, research, and international cooperation.
Al-Turath University appreciated the support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Directorate of Scholarships and Cultural Relations in encouraging Iraqi universities to engage with international programs, as well as this achievement represents another significant step toward a more internationally connected university environment capable of building meaningful partnerships, advancing knowledge, and strengthening the presence of Iraqi higher education within the global academic landscape.
