Under the patronage of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Ali Al-Ogaili and the supervision of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Al-Turath University continues to strengthen its qualitative presence in Iraq’s academic landscape through an active participation in the 3×3 Basketball Championship hosted by Ashur University in Baghdad, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority and the Student Activities Department.
Al-Turath’s team delivered a high-level performance from the outset, securing three consecutive victories on the opening day, demonstrating tactical maturity and strong integration between individual skill and team coordination, this performance reflects the direct impact of a supportive educational environment that the university continuously fosters, focusing not only on academic excellence but also on developing well-rounded, competitive students.
This participation aligned with the university’s broader strategy of integrating student activities into a comprehensive educational model that promotes physical well-being, collaboration, and social cohesion, while contributing to the development of graduates equipped with both academic competence and practical readiness, it also reinforces inter-university engagement within a framework of constructive competition and academic interaction.
The Championship brought together 64 public and private universities, highlighting the advancement of university sports in Iraq as an interactive platform that enhances institutional presence and contributes to international visibility by transforming such engagements into measurable assets within Evidence, Impact, and Visibility frameworks supporting global rankings.
Through this participation, Al-Turath University reaffirmed that student activities are no longer supplementary but represent a core pillar in building applied knowledge and shaping a competitive institutional image at both regional and international levels.
