The Scientific Assistant to the President of Al-Turath University Prof. Dr. Omar Saad Ahmed reviewed that the University’s global ranking trajectory can be read through two clear phases, the first spans from 1988 to 2017 during which the University’s presence in international indexing remained limited noting that Scopus initially reflected only two papers before further verification confirmed a cumulative total of four papers up to 2018 after correcting previously inaccurate entries.
The University’s Scientific Affairs Assistant added that the second phase was driven by an institutional shift toward internationalization supported directly by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Ali Al-Ogaili transforming the approach from symbolic listing to building a competitive scientific wing Prof. Dr. Omar Saad Ahmed continued by saying that the University now exceeds 1500 indexed publications across Scopus and Web of Science pathways alongside representation in more than ten international rankings describing this as a qualitative leap that extended beyond infrastructure into the research ecosystem itself.
The University’s Scientific Affairs Assistant emphasized that rankings are no longer promotional labels but an influential institutional standard that protects student outcomes by strengthening international recognition enabling postgraduate opportunities abroad and expanding the University’s capacity to develop partnerships and resources on a credible academic basis Prof. Dr. Omar Saad Ahmed demonstrated that the student advantage becomes tangible when graduation is tied to a recognized institution aligned with international benchmarks.
