Under the patronage of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Turath University, Mr. Ali Al-Ogaili, Al-Turath University concluded the specialized developmental training course for basketball coaches in Iraq, organized by the Central Basketball Federation in cooperation with the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Al-Turath University.
The three-day course, held from June 4 to 6, 2026, brought together male and female trainees from various governorates of Iraq.
For their part, the participants received theoretical and practical training in the university’s halls and sports courts, delivered by a distinguished group of coaches, specialized academics, and members of the Executive Office of the Iraqi Basketball Federation.
The opening ceremony was attended by the President of Al-Turath University, the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, the Director of Quality and Programs, and the Director of the Continuing Education Center, along with members of the Executive Office of the Iraqi Basketball Federation, reflecting strong cooperation between academic and sports institutions.
Al-Turath University emphasized that this initiative aligns with its vision to support applied education and professional training in sports, while contributing to the development of coaches capable of enhancing the skills of local team players and improving athletic performance in Iraq.
