As part of its commitment to internationalization and expanding global educational opportunities for its students, Al-Turath University hosted a specialized information session on the Chevening Scholarship Programin collaboration with Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and under the supervision of the British Embassy in Iraq and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The event featured remarks by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Ali Al-Ogaili, who emphasized that education remains the most valuable investment in the future of nations and that empowering individuals through knowledge is the foundation of sustainable development and progress, highlighting the importance of international partnerships in broadening students’ opportunities and strengthening their global competitiveness.
The session also included remarks by Ms. Dunia Tanovic, representative of the British Embassy in Iraq, who praised Mr. Ali Al-Ogaili’s vision and continued support for education and academic openness, stressing that investment in education is the most sustainable and impactful pathway for building prosperous societies and future leaders.
The workshop provided a comprehensive overview of the Chevening Scholarship Program, including application procedures, admission requirements, and the academic opportunities available to Iraqi students and graduates seeking postgraduate study at leading British universities, thereby strengthening educational and cultural exchange between Iraq and the United Kingdom.
Al-Turath University affirmed that this initiative reflects its strategic vision of academic internationalization and its commitment to build strong partnerships with globally recognized institutions, create new pathways for academic excellence and future leadership.
