Aligned with its vision of integrating creativity into academic practice and transforming student potential into impactful knowledge outputs, Al-Turath University demonstrated a distinguished presence at the Short Film Festival organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research through the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority and the Student Activities Department, hosted by Al-Kitab University, with participation from 42 public and private universities.
This participation was conducted under the patronage of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Ali Al-Ogaili and the supervision of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Omar Saad Al-Azzawi, reflecting a strong institutional alignment between academic leadership and pathways for fostering student creativity.
Al-Turath University achieved a significant milestone by winning the Best Cinematography Award, highlighting an advanced level of visual awareness and the ability to utilize cinematic techniques in constructing a professional visual narrative, this accomplishment confirms that the university environment extends beyond knowledge delivery to producing competitive creative outputs within integrated academic and cultural frameworks.
This achievement also reflects the university’s success in linking media and technical disciplines with visual arts, developing students’ skills in directing, cinematography, and visual analysis, in alignment with labor market demands in creative industries and enhancing graduate readiness for diverse professional environments.
Furthermore, this participation supports the university’s strategy of cultural openness and academic collaboration with Iraqi institutions, transforming artistic activities into documented knowledge assets that contribute to Evidence, Impact, and Visibility indicators, strengthening its position in global rankings and reinforcing its identity as a knowledge- and creativity-driven institution.
