Al-Turath University strengthened its commitment to legal awareness and social justice as the College of Law organized a specialized awareness symposium on the criminal protection of minorities, with the participation of legal experts, reflecting the university’s engagement with human-centered and legislative issues.
The University reviewed this initiative with the vision led by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Ali Al-Ogaili, which emphasizes supporting legal studies related to the protection of social groups and promoting principles of justice and equality within an academically informed environment.
Al-Turath highlighted that the symposium examined legislative frameworks that ensure criminal protection for minorities, mechanisms for enforcing laws to safeguard rights and prevent discrimination, as well as challenges facing these groups and approaches to strengthening legal systems in line with national and international standards.
The University also highlighted that the session witnessed strong academic engagement, where discussions and expert contributions enriched the dialogue and expanded participants’ legal understanding, enhancing students’ ability to address rights-based issues through an advanced academic perspective.
Al-Turath affirmed that such initiatives contribute to build a dynamic academic model that connects legal education with societal realities and prepares graduates capable of promoting justice and upholding the rule of law.
