Al-Turath University elevated international cooperation to the level of institutional action as it welcomed the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Iraq Mr. Somen Bagchi and his accompanying delegation under the leadership of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Turath University, Mr. Ali Al-Ogaili in a meeting that moved beyond ceremonial engagement toward shaping a sustainable academic and cultural partnership between two historically rich civilizations.
The University added that the meeting reflected a vision led by Mr. Ali Al-Ogaili aimed at transforming diplomatic relations into executable academic collaborations as discussions addressed higher education research and innovation pathways alongside frameworks for joint programs memoranda of understanding and structured exchange mechanisms that enhance student and researcher mobility while connecting the local academic environment with India’s established scientific and technological experience.
Al-Turath University reviewed that the visit extended beyond institutional dialogue into a cultural dimension as the University Conference Hall hosted a performance by an Indian artistic ensemble highlighting the depth of India’s cultural legacy and affirming the role of the arts as a universal language that complements academic cooperation and strengthens intercultural understanding.
The University affirmed that Mr. Ali Al-Ogaili emphasized the importance of building strategic partnerships grounded in quality assurance academic accreditation and balanced openness thereby reinforcing the University’s international presence and expanding opportunities for students to engage with global academic experiences.
