Under the patronage of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Ali Al-Ogaili, and in line with Al-Turath University’s commitment to academic rigor and impact-driven partnerships, the College of Engineering at Al-Turath University, Department of Architecture Engineering, in cooperation with the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, Department of Architecture Engineering, organized a specialized scientific symposium entitled (The Story of Architecture Between Mass and Space), the event offered a knowledge-driven platform that explored architecture as an intellectual discipline before it becomes a physical form.
Al-Turath University reviewed that the symposium created a high-level academic space for discussion and analysis, connecting students with the deeper questions of architecture, and examining mass and space as foundational design languages that shape the relationship between people, place, function, and aesthetics.
For his part, Mr. Ali Al-Ogaili highlighted a selection of student projects and outputs, expressing strong admiration for the advanced engineering level and the design vision demonstrated by the students, as well as reaffirming the Board of Trustees’ commitment to support such creative talents as a strategic investment in the future.
The University also reviewed professional engagement that reflects the University’s alignment with real-world practice, welcoming distinguished guests including Dr. Mowaffaq Al-Jubouri, Director of MJU Real Estate Design Company, and Consulting Engineer Asaad Ameer, Director of Projects at Al-Turath Holding, reinforcing the integration between academic learning and professional field experience.
Al-Turath University affirmed that this symposium represents a model of effective academic partnership one that generates knowledge, dialogue, and applied insight while presenting architecture as a human-centered and engineering discipline that shapes identity and builds more intelligent, higher-quality spaces.
