In a step that reflects Al-Turath University’s commitment to empower its students with real-world practical experiences, students from the Department of Petroleum Refining and Gas Engineering at the College of Engineering participated, as part of their summer training program, in an occupational safety awareness symposium organized by the Midland Refineries Company entitled (Explaining Occupational Safety Procedures).
Al-Turath University reviewed that this symposium served as an advanced knowledge platform to familiarize students with the latest safety standards and tools adopted in oil industry workplaces, and to raise their awareness of safe working environment requirements in line with the company’s policies and procedures, as well as providing them with direct exposure to high-level field expertise within one of Iraq’s most prominent oil industry establishments.
Al-Turath University highlighted that this participation represents a pivotal component of the summer training track carried out by the students within the company’s facilities, offering a distinctive experience that blends academic learning with practical expertise to prepare them for effective integration into the job market with high competence.
For its part, the College of Engineering at Al-Turath University affirmed that building a generation of engineers capable of meeting the demands of the national industry begins with enhancing practical training and establishing active partnerships with leading institutions in the oil sector, ensuring the development of students’ skills and refining their capabilities to meet the challenges of the future.
