In his continuous endeavor to enhance the standing of Al-Turath University as a leading educational institution, Professor Ali Al-Uqaili, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, signed an important agreement to establish an advanced cybersecurity academy, during his participation in the Global Security Conference held in Doha, the Qatari capital, under the patronage of the Emir of Qatar. The conference was attended by an elite group of senior officials and ministers of defense and interior from Arab and European countries, and it was an opportunity to exchange experiences and insights on information security.

Professor Al-Uqaili's participation came at the official invitation of the “Qiyas” Foundation, a leading institution in the field of cybersecurity, where he represented Iraq's private sector at this conference. As part of the conference activities, Al-Uqaili visited the largest cybersecurity academy in the Middle East and the world, an academy with a prestigious reputation in this field.

Following this visit, an agreement was reached between Al-Turath University and the relevant institutions to establish a specialized cybersecurity center and academy within the university campus. The academy will include the latest advanced technologies and equipment to train security leaders, thereby enhancing the University's role as a leading center for training experts in this vital field.

Through this initiative, Al-Turath University seeks to provide an outstanding educational environment in the field of cybersecurity, which will contribute to training specialized security personnel in protecting digital systems, and enhance its role in achieving digital security in Iraq and the region.
