Al-Turath University team wins award for Best Influential Opening Statement in International Mediation Competition in Austria.

In a historic achievement for Al-Turath University, the College of Law team won the award for the most impactful opening statement in the International Mediation and Negotiation Competition, held at the University of Vienna in Austria. This is the first time in Al-Turath University's history that its team has received such prestigious international recognition, thanks to the direct efforts and support of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor Ali Al-Ugaili. He congratulated the participating team in a phone call, telling them, "We are proud of this great achievement by our team. It is a culmination of your outstanding efforts and your commitment to excellence and leadership in the field of mediation. This victory will be an incentive for us to continue developing and elevating the level of our academic programs and achieving further international accomplishments." Dr. Safaa Al-Shammari, Assistant for Scientific and Student Affairs at the College of Law, represented the team as coach, along with Ms. Sophie, a representative of UNDP in Iraq, and with the participation of fourth-year student Zahraa Amer Abdul Amir and third-year student Ali Iyad Abdul Amir. The team competed against dozens of participating teams from various countries around the world in this global competition, which was sponsored by the United Nations (UNDP), funded by the European Union (EU), and organized by the Austrian Mediation and Negotiation Center (CDRC), with the participation of 46 international teams representing international universities' law faculties. The University presidency also expressed its happiness with this great achievement, stating, "We are proud of this great achievement by our team. It is a culmination of their outstanding efforts and their commitment to excellence and leadership in the field of mediation. This victory will be an incentive for us to continue developing and elevating the level of our academic programs and achieving further international accomplishments." This victory reaffirms Al-Turath University's prestigious position in the field of law, arbitration, and mediation at both regional and global levels.
