During hosting the first International Forum on Displacement and International Migration that was held under the patronage of the Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees, Mr. Ali Al-Ogali, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Migration and Displacement.
Al-Turath University reviewed that the forum was attended by several influential figures, including Ms. Evan Faik, Minister of Migration and Displacement of Iraq, Mr. Haider Sabah Saleh, Head of the Scientific Affairs Department of Private Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Joo Seung-seo, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Georgi Dzhegori, Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration, Mr. Orhan Azizoglu, President of the International Association of Universities and several representatives of non-governmental organizations.
For their part, the attendees reviewed the issue of illegal immigration, its dangers and its negative repercussions on society in all aspects of life, as well as reviewing the role of education in identifying the causes of the problem and finding appropriate solutions worldwide, proposals for new policies and strategies, in collaboration with non-governmental organizations, were also reviewed to address causes such as lack of education, poverty and lack of job opportunities and to develop solutions to societal problems.
Al-Turath University expressed its commitment to build society and solve its problems, as well as linking scientific research to the needs of the service and production sectors, it recognizes the importance of its role in shaping the cultural ideologies of individuals and society as a whole.
