Al-Turath University’s Women’s Handicraft Cooperative aims to empower local women by helping them develop sustainable income through artisanal crafts. This program offers participants training in traditional and contemporary handicraft skills, including textiles, and jewelry making, while also providing instruction in small business management and marketing strategies, such as digital sales and e-commerce. Participants receive ongoing mentorship, access to essential materials, and workspace within university facilities. Upon completion, they join a cooperative where they can collaborate, sell their crafts, and gain visibility through a university-hosted marketplace, which showcases their products to a wider audience. This initiative not only fosters financial independence but also promotes cultural heritage, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic development in the community. Applications for Al-Turath University’s Women’s Handicraft Cooperative are open from November 20 to December 10. Forms are available at the front desk of the university support center.
