Al-Turath University in Global Rankings
In 2018, Al-Turath University was not eligible to enter any of the global rankings such as THE Impact Rankings, SCImago Ranking, UI GreenMetric Ranking, Webometrics, AD Scientific Index, Round University Ranking.
Now, Al-Turath University is participating and competing in all these global rankings, as follows:
- Times Impact Ranking (THE Impact)
The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings uniquely focuses on evaluating universities' contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which cover a wide range of global challenges including poverty, inequality, climate change, and quality education. SDG 17 ("Partnerships for the Goals") is a mandatory component for inclusion in the overall ranking, and the overall ranking is determined by the University's score in SDG 17 plus its best three results from the remaining sixteen SDGs.

B. SCImago Ranking (SCImago) and Clarivate (Clarivate)
The SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) evaluates academic and research institutions worldwide based on three main indicators: "Research" (volume, impact, and quality of research output), "Innovation" (number of patent applications and citations received by research output from patents), and "Societal Impact" (web visibility, including web pages, backlinks, and mentions from social networks). Data for the SIR ranking is derived from the Scopus database.

C. Web Ranking (Webometrics)
The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities evaluates institutions based on their digital footprint, specifically the volume of their web content and the visibility and impact of their online publications. This ranking consists of sub-indicators: "Impact" (external links), "Openness" (academic presence, such as Google Scholar citations), and "Excellence" (top 10% of most cited research papers).
Al-Turath University has shown significant progress in the Webometrics global ranking. In 2020, its global ranking was 22740. By 2023, this ranking significantly improved to 8138. The University maintained this global ranking at 8138 in the July 2024 edition. Nationally, Al-Turath University ranks 31st in Iraq for both 2023 and 2024.

D. Index AD Scientific (AD Scientific Index)
The AD Scientific Index focuses on ranking individual scientists and institutions based on their scientific productivity and citation metrics. This index provides insight into research impact at both individual and institutional levels, with Al-Turath University listed in the AD Scientific Index for 2025, with over 21 scientists included in the index.

E. Ranking UI Green Metrics For Sustainable Development
The UI GreenMetric ranking evaluates universities based on their commitment to environmental sustainability and sustainable development. This ranking encourages universities to implement sustainable practices, contributing to the broader global goals of environmental preservation and sustainable development.
Al-Turath University has shown remarkable progress in the UI GreenMetric ranking over the past few years. In 2021, the University ranked 36th nationally in Iraq with a total score of 3525 points. By 2022, its national ranking improved to 34th with a total score of 4490 points. This positive trend continued in 2023, with the University reaching 37th nationally with a total score of 4865 points. Additionally, the University's score exceeded 5000 points in 2025, indicating continuous improvement in the University's environmental sustainability efforts across various ranking indicators.
