The department was established in 2018 according to the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the department follows the annual system in its studies according to the twinning system in effect with the corresponding government colleges.
The department accepts graduates of preparatory school in the scientific stream (biological and applied) at the acceptance rates determined by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
